We have been authorized as a visitor center for wild salmon by the Norwegian Environment Agency.

Becoming an authorized visitor center by the Norwegian Environment Agency is a major milestone for us at the Wild Salmon Center.

What was previously called the National Wild Salmon Center Lærdal will change its name to The Lærdal Wild Salmon Visitor Centre and become an authorized visitor center.

This is a seal of quality that shows that we have solid academic content and can convey knowledge about Atlantic wild salmon, its habitat and the threats it faces. We are now one of four such centers in Norway.

There are a total of 45 authorized visitor centers in Norway, which cover: national parks, wetlands, forests, predators, wild salmon, wild reindeer, world heritage sites and the Oslofjord. Read more about visitor centers at Norway's national parks.

In the spring we open the doors as The Lærdal Wild Salmon Visitor Centre The exhibitions haven't changed that much, but the profile and packaging are new. And we will always develop ourselves further, so that you can learn something new when you come by.

We are looking forward to the season opening on May 1st - welcome!
