The Spawning Festival

Autumn's meeting place by the river

The Spawning Festival is an annual event that takes place in late October–November when the salmon in the Lærdal River spawn. The festival lasts several days and offers activities for all ages at the center, outside the center and along the river.

You can join spawning walks, fly fishing workshops, nature trails, book baths, concerts and lectures.

The goal of the spawning festival is to create experiences and activities that appeal to both young and old, so that we experience and learn more about salmon in nature and have fun together.

Set aside the weekend of October 23-25, that's when this year's spawning festival will take place. We have started planning the event, and will come back as soon as the program is in place. We are looking forward to it!
