Tour in the surrounding area

The Wild Salmon Center is located by the Lærdalselvi River, so close that we actually bring the river into the center. There is a beautiful, well-maintained walkway along the river (blue line on the map).

The river has clear water. If you take a walk, you may, with a bit of luck, see salmon and sea trout that are there. You have the best chance of seeing them in July and August.

Trip to the day trip hut

If you want to see the valley, the river and the village from above, it's an easy trip up to the day trip hut on Mjølkeflata (red line on the map). From the cabin you get a good view of both Lærdal, the river and the valley.

Follow the path from the wild salmon center down towards the river mouth and cross the river on the sidewalk on the bridge. On the other side there is a sign up to the cabin. The path up to the cabin is about 1 km. There is about 90 m of ascent. The walk takes about 30 min.
