In memory of the King and his long history with Lærdal
In memory of the King and his long history with Lærdal
It is with great sadness The Lærdal Wild Salmon Visitor Centre has received the news of the King's passing. The King has had great importance for Lærdal, The Lærdal River , the salmon and the wild salmon center.
The king fished in The Lærdal River for the first time in 1951 and the last time in June 2026. In The Lærdal River caught the King's first, largest and last salmon. Through annual fishing trips to Lærdal, the King established close relationships with a number of Lærdal fishermen and put Lærdal on the map. The King was responsible for the official opening of the wild salmon center in 1996. Through his salmon fishing, the King kept the attention of the salmon and the wild salmon center alive. The King has visited the wild salmon center a number of times.
May peace shine upon his memory.
