Get closer to life in Lærdalselvi

In this part of the exhibition, you will learn about the environment in which salmon live. On a large map, you can follow the Lærdalselvi up the valley and learn about the pools (fishing grounds) where salmon gather, measures to improve conditions, spawning grounds and salmon ladders.

See and experience

We have a number of films that you can start yourself and choose the language. One film takes you up the valley with a drone. At "stopping points" you will get information about the hatchery, old irrigation systems, small power plants, salmon ladders, etc.

If you film what happens underwater, you will get closer to life in the Lærdalselvi River. You can see salmon and sea trout at different stages of their life, eels, otters, herring, humpback salmon, to name a few.
